MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Inch Down -0.43% Dragged by Banking, Industrial Counters

Market movers: BOCGAS (-10.00%), SKYAVN (-9.92%), LAWUNION (+9.59%) and LINKASSURE (+4.65%).

Sector Performances: Industrial (-3.02%), Banking (-1.82%), Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, while total volume and value increased by 4% and 52% compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded 103million units of shares worth about N1.16billion. FBNH (-4.35%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 31million units of shares accounting for about 30% of the total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of a significant gain in the prices of DANGCEM and MTNN, the market may close down today if the losses in Industrial and Banking sectors persist.
