MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Appreciates +0.21% Defying COVID-19 Fears

ASI as at 12.00pm: +0.21%. 

Market movers: CHAMS (+10.00%), UNIONDAC (+10.00%), NCR (-9.09%) and STANBIC (-4.42%).

Sector Performances: Banking (+1.70%), Consumer Goods (+0.11%), Industrial (+0.07%) and Oil & Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value fell by 70% and 60% respectively compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded 81million units of shares worth about N731million.

ZENITHBANK (+1.23%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 18million units of shares accounting for about 22% of the total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of a significant loss in the prices of DANGCEM and MTNN, the market may close up today if the gains in most sectors persist.
