MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Inch Down -0.27% on Losses in Oil & Gas Counters

Market movers:  SEPLAT (-9.99%), NEIMETH (-9.57%), WAPIC (+6.06%) and FLOURMILL (+4.35%). 

Sector Performances: Oil & Gas (-4.21%), Banking (+0.06%), Consumer Goods (+0.05%) and Industrial. 

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value rose by 191% and 338% respectively, compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded about 157million units of shares worth about N1.71billion. UACN (-3.45%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 40million units of shares accounting for about 25% of the total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of MTNN and DANGCEM, the market may close down today if the losses Oil & Gas names persist.
