MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Down -0.24% Dragged by Banking, Industrial Counters

Market movers: CAPHOTEL (-10.00%)CORNERST (-9.09%)JAIZBANK (+9.09%) and NAHCO (+5.53%).

Sector Performances: Banking (-1.48%), Industrial (-0.02%), Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, while total volume declined by 27%, total value rose by 115%, compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded about 55million units of shares worth about N724million. UBA (-3.23%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 22million units of shares accounting for about 40% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of MTNN and DANGCEM, the market may close down today if the losses in Banking and Industrial sectors persist.
