MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Inch Down -0.17% on Losses Across Sector

Market movers: IKEJAHOTEL (-7.69%) and TRANSCORP (-6.67%), MBENEFIT (+10.00%)CUTIX (+9.14%).

Sector Performances: Consumer Goods (-0.45%), Banking (-0.44%),  Industrial (-0.05%) and Oil & Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value increased by 158% and 572% respectively, compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded about 271million units of shares worth about N3.04billion. UNILEVER (-3.85%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 47million units of shares accounting for about 24% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close down today if the losses in most sectors persist.
