NSEASI Rises by 0.18% amid Sustained Bullish Activity

The domestic equities market ASI advanced by 0.18% to 25,460 points amid sustained bargain hunting activity even as the Exchange printed 18gainers as against 11losers at the close of trading session.

Hence, the year to date loss of the NSE ASI lowered to 5.1%. Specifically,buy interest in tickers such as NB, STANBIC, ZENITHBANK and BUACEMENT lifted their respective share prices by 2.56%, 2.74%, 0.59% and 0.25%.

However, performance was mixed across sub-sector gauges tracked as only the NSE Banking and NSE Consumer Goods indices rose by 0.36% and 0.55%.

On the flip side, the NSE Insurance and NSE Oil/Gas indices moderated by 1.08% and 0.19% respectively while the NSE Industrial closed flat. Meanwhile, market activity was weak as the total volume and value of stocks traded dwindled by 83.33% and 53.33% to 0.17billion units  and N0.98 billion.
