MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Rise +0.06% on Gains in Banking, Consumer Goods Sectors

Market movers:  COURTVILLE (+9.09%), WAPIC (+5.77%), PRESTIGE(-8.89%)  and JAPAULGOLD(-8.89%). 

Sector Performances: Banking (+0.71%),  Consumer Goods (+0.06%), Industrial and Oil and Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and  total value decreased by about 62% and 87% compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 106million units of shares worth  N853million.  COURTVILLE(+9.09%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 33million units of shares accounting for about 31% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close up today if the gains in Banking and Consumer Goods sectors persist.
