MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Heads Northward +0.20% Driven by Industrial, Oil & Gas Sectors

Market movers: MEYER (+10.00%), GUINNESS (+6.86%), ACADEMY (-9.72%) and JOHNHOLT (-9.30%)

Sector Performances: Industrial (+0.99%), Oil and Gas (+0.18%), Banking (-2.00%),  and Consumer Goods (-0.10%)

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume and value increased by 529% and 1340% respectively, compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 365million units of shares worth N7billion. FIDELITYBK (-1.28%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 33million units of shares accounting for about 9% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM and MTNN, the market should close in the green territory today if the gains recorded in the Industrial and Oil and Gas sectors persist.
