The Federal Reserve Board on Tuesday announced its approval of the application by Columbia Banking System, Inc., Tacoma, Washington, to acquire Umpqua Holdings Corporation, Portland, Oregon, and thereby indirectly acquire its state nonmember bank, Umpqua Bank, Roseburg, Oregon.
