NGXASI Declines -0.48% on Selloffs in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.48% today to close at 98,228.5pts, as the selloffs observed in GTCO (-7.89%), DANGSUGAR (-10.00%) and SEPLAT (-2.33%) drove the equities market into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market continued its bullish trend today, the buy pressure on the short and mid tenor instruments persisted. As a result, Average T-Bills yield moderated by 4bps to close at 22.47%. In line, the FGN Bond market also had a strong performance as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 23bps to close at 18.59%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 4.60% to close at NGN 1,416.57/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.16% to USD83.46pb.
