Bulls Resurface as NGXASI Gains -0.79%, Buoyed by Blue Chips

The NGXASI advanced by 0.79% today to close at 98,156.71pts, as the positive sentiment on AIRTELAFRI (+8.97%), STERLINGNG (+4.74%) and NB (+1.77%) drove the market into the positive territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note as yields moderated across the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bp to close at 22.38%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 9bps to close at 18.73%.

Yesterday at the NAFEM window, the Naira strengthened by 4.04% to close at NGN 1,459.02/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) trended upwards by 0.70% to USD83.33pb.
