NGXASI Declines -0.28% amid Selloffs in OANDO, SEPLAT, WAPCO

The NGXASI declined by 0.28% today to close at 97,506.87pts, amid selloffs recorded in SEPLAT (-6.02%), WAPCO (-1.69%) and OANDO (-0.61%) which drove the domestic bourse into the red.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by sell pressure observed at the short end of the benchmark curve. Thus, Average T-Bills yield expanded by 6bps to close at 25.16%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market was mostly flat as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged at 19.46%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira weakened by 1.69% to close at NGN1,672.69/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose marginally by 0.14% to USD73.38pb.
