NGXASI Declines -0.22% on 2025 Eve, Dragged by Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.22% today to close at 102,926.40pts as buy pressure on MTNN (-3.75%), DANGSUGAR (-4.55%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.98%) drove the Nigerian bourse into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, due to selloffs observed on the long and short end of the benchmark curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield increased by 7bps to close at 25.55%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market traded on a quiet note as the Average FGN Bond yield stayed flat to close at 19.75%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.13% to close at NGN1,535.00/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.50% to USD74.36pb.
