NGXASI Gains -0.25% to Open First Trading Session of Year 2025

The NGXASI advanced by 0.25% today to close at 103,180.14pts as gains in UCAP (+9.80%), UNILEVER (+9.26%) and ZENITHBANK (+0.77%) drove the Nigerian bourse into the green zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, due to buy pressure seen across the benchmark curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield declined by 4bps to close at 25.51%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market traded on a quiet note as the Average FGN Bond yield stayed flat to close at 19.76%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.23% to close at NGN1,538.50/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 2.40% to USD76.43pb.
