NGXASI Dips 0.24% on Losses in Banking Stocks

The NGXASI declined by 0.24% today to close at 103,398.82pts as losses in ZENITHBANK (-3.64%), UBA (-2.44%) and ACCESSCORP (-1.00%) drove the local bourse into the negative territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, following buy pressure seen on the shorter end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield declined by 5bps to close at 25.41%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market traded on a flat note as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged to close at 19.78%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira moderated by 0.03% to close at NGN1,537.03/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) edged higher by 0.96% to USD77.03pb.
