FIDELITYBANK, GTCO, OANDO Drags NGXASI to Start Week -0.19%

The NGXASI declined by 0.19% today to close at 105,799.17pts, driven by the losses recorded in OANDO (-2.02%), GTCO (-0.57%) and FIDELITYBK (-2.04%) which pushed the local equities market into the negative terrain.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by the sell pressure observed across the mid and long end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield rose by 9bps to close at 19.26%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond market was slightly negative as the Average FGN Bond yield inched up by 1bp to close at 18.47%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira strengthened by 1.29% to close at NGN1,528.03/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) increased by 0.69% to USD71.07pb.
