The NGXASI advanced by 0.24% today to close at 121,653.93pts, as the gains printed in FIRSTHOLDCO (+6.96%), DANGSUGAR (+8.24%) and GTCO (+1.72%) propelled the Nigerian bourse into the positive terrain.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market exhibited a bullish bias as yields declined across the mid and long end of the curve driven by buying pressure from investors. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield fell by 45bps to close at 19.43%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield decreased by 32bps to 17.23%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.06% to close at NGN1,529.22/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.91% to trade at USD70.21pb.
