NGXASI Dips -0.09% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.09% to close at 165,371.77pts, as losses recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (-5.26%), FIDELITYBK (-2.11%) and TRANSCORP (-1.09%), drove the local bourse into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bearish note due to sell pressure seen across the short end of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield increased by 6bps to close at 18.22%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bullish note as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 24bps to close at 16.48%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.75% to close at NGN 1,386.55/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 0.03% to close at USD70.69pb.
