The NGXASI advanced by 0.57% to close at 196,621.55pts, as bullish sentiment recorded in BUAFOODS (+0.91%), OANDO (+9.96%) and WAPCO (+1.20%), drove the equities market into the positive territory.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market reversed its gains as there was selling pressure on the longer end of the tenor. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield rose by 3bps to close at 17.23%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield was up by 3bps to close at 15.58%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.45% to close at NGN 1,384.29/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 7.38% to close at USD83.48pb.
