The NGXASI declined by 0.94% to close at 223,602.29pts, as investors sell interest in ZENITHBANK (-10.00%), FIRSTHOLDCCO (-10.00%) and GTCO (-4.90%) drove the domestic bourse into the negative region.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed on a bearish note, due to sell offs observed across the short and long end of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield inched up by 8bps to close at 17.50%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 3bps to close at 16.07%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.43% to close at NGN1,364.24/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) increased by 3.22% to close at USD108.72pb.
