NGXASI Declines -0.10%, Dragged by Banking Stocks

The NGXASI declined by 0.10% to close at 252,243.11pts, as the losses recorded in STANBIC (-4.45%), WEMABANK (-7.14%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.69%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note amid the soft buying interest noticed across the curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield moderated by 1bp to close at 17.46%. Conversely, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield increased by 3bps to close at 16.11%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated marginally by 0.02% to close at NGN1,370.89/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) decreased by 0.12% to close at USD105.50pb.
