NGXASI Dips -0.72% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.72% to close at 250,330.92pts, as the losses recorded in MTNN (-1.80%), FIRSTHOLDCO (-2.51%) and NB (-6.51%) drove the local equities market into the negative zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly negative note amid the mild selling interest observed across the short and long end of the curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield rose by 5bps to close at 17.50%. However, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a tepid note as the Average FGN Bond yield closed flat at 16.11%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened slightly by 0.01% to close at NGN1,371.04/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) increased by 3.32% to close at USD109.23pb.
