NGXASI Dips -1.02% on Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 1.02% to close at 249,063.70pts, as the losses recorded in BUACEMENT (-10.00%), FIRSTHOLDCO (-4.04%) and GTCO (-0.48%) drove the local equities market into the negative zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note amid the mild buying interest observed across the curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield inched lower by 1bp to close at 17.49%. However, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 13bps to close at 16.21%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira strengthened marginally by 0.04% to close at NGN1,373.34/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) decreased by 6.22% to close at USD104.36pb.
