United Arab Emirates (UAE) Leaves the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)

This represents 11% of the total OPEC production in April 2026 After the UAE’s exit, OPEC now has 11 members UAE’s exit from OPEC may weaken the Cartel’s ability to influence global oil market The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) now expects OPEC’s spare capacity at 2.5 mb/d in 2027 Lower than previous forecast of 3.8mb/d.
