NGXASI Dips -0.49% on Losses in GEREGU, OKOMUOIL, FIRSTHOLDCO

The NGXASI declined by 0.49% to close at 241,984.80pts, as the losses recorded in GEREGU (-10.00%), OKOMUOIL (-9.97%) and FIRSTHOLDCO (-3.97%) drove the local equities market into the red zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note amid bearish sentiment observed across the three tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield increased by 12bps to close at 17.89%. Likewise, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield traded higher by 7bp to close at 16.95%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira declined by 0.37% to close at NGN1,361.50/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.82% to close at USD79.61pb.
