The NGXASI declined by 0.64% to close at 233,580.83pts, as the losses recorded in TRANSCORP (-6.86%), OANDO (-8.47%) and UBA (-1.76%) drove the local equities market into the negative zone.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a strongly negative note, driven by sell pressure observed across the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield increased by 26bps to close at 18.59. Likewise, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 8bps to close at 17.37.
At the NFEM window, the Naira closed broadly flat, weakening slightly by 0.0028% to close at NGN1,380.11/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 1.53% to close at USD74.87pb.
