NGXASI Dips -1.57% on Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 1.57% to close at 228,401.92pts, as the losses recorded in MTNN (-10.00%), WAPCO(-2.33%) and UNILEVER (-10.00%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note, driven by the buy pressure observed across the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield decreased by 3bps to close at 18.64%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 12bps to close at 17.90%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.20% to close at NGN1,383.63/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 1.52% to close at USD73.07pb.
