
The NGXASI declined by 0.61% to close at 224,321.97pts, as the decline recorded in WAPCO (-6.45%), FIRSTHOLDCO (-8.22%) and ZENITHBANK (-2.95%) drove the local equities market into the red.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, driven by the buy pressure observed across the three tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield decreased by 12bps to close at 18.53%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 2bps to close at 17.89%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira strengthened by 0.16% to close at NGN1,370.15/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 0.15% to close at USD71.46pb.
