NGXASI Advance +2.27%, Driven by Bellwether Tickers

The NGXASI advanced by 2.27% to close at 242,459.98pts, as the gains recorded in AIRTELAFRI (+10.00%), DANGCEM (+3.15%) and WAPCO (+2.13%) drove the local equities market into the positive zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note, driven by the buy pressure observed across the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 4bps to close at 18.50%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 1bp to close at 17.81%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.24% to close at NGN1,379.07/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 7.32% to close at USD79.59pb.
