NGXASI Dips -0.84% on Losses in BUACEMENT, FIRSTHOLDCO, ZENITHBANK

The NGXASI declined by 0.84% to close at 241,749.11pts today, as the losses recorded in BUACEMENT (-9.99%), FIRSTHOLDCO (-5.20%) and ZENITHBANK (+3.25%) drove the local equities market into the negative zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, driven by the buying pressure observed across the long and short tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 4bps to close at 18.47%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 1bp to close at 17.74%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira closed flat at NGN1,379.65/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 6.78% to close at USD81.16pb.
