MPC Holds MPR at 26.50%

July 21, 2026/Cordros Update

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) at its 306th Policy Meeting held between July 20th and 21st, 2026, voted to:

  1. Hold the MPR at its current level (26.50%)
  2. Hold the asymmetric corridor around the MPR at +50bps/-450bps
  3. Hold the CRR for Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) at 45.0%, and Merchant Banks at 16.0%
  4. Hold the CRR on non-Treasury Single Account (TSA) public sector deposits at 75.0%
  5. Hold the Liquidity Ratio at 30.0%
