NGXASI Declines – 0.41%, Dragged by Banking, Industrial Goods Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.41% to close at 246,980.17pts, as the losses recorded in HBMNG (-3.80%), FIRSTHOLDCO (-1.65%) and GTCO (-1.91%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a flattish note, driven by the mixed sentiment observed across the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield remained unchanged to close at 18.16%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield advanced by 1bp to close at 17.17%
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira declined by 0.09% to close at NGN1,366.71/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 7.18% to close at USD90.13pb.
