NGXASI Declines -0.65%, Dragged by Losses in Banking, Industrial Goods Tickers

The NGXASI declined by 0.65% to close at 245,386.00pts, as the losses recorded in HBMNG (-4.00%), FIRSTHOLDCO (-3.96%) and ZENITHBANK (-3.60%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note, driven by the mild buy sentiment observed across the short and long ends of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bp to close at 18.15%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 7bps to close at 17.10%
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened slightly by 0.01% to close at NGN1,366.73/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 1.54% to close at USD89.34pb.
