NGX Dips Marginally as Investors Lock in Gains

  • Today, the Nigerian Exchange Market closed on a negative note due to share price depreciation in OANDO (-4.56%) and NB (-2.67%)
  • As a result, the benchmark Nigerian Exchange All-Share Index (NGX-ASI) fell by 0.03% to settle at 245,283.68 points
  • Year to date returns fell to settle at 57.62%
  • Market capitalisation also fell by 0.01% to close at N158.33tn ($115.84bn)
  • Activity level in the market was negative with the total value of stocks traded and the total volume of stocks traded falling by 79.75% and 55.14% to settle at 46.74bn and 942.97mn units respectively
  • Note: The difference between the NGX-ASI and market capitalisation daily changes was due to Listing of AVA Capital Plc. AVA Capital Plc listed 5 billion units of ordinary shares at ₦7.50 per share.
