NGXASI Dips -0.38%, Dragged by Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.38% to close at 244,802.83pts, as the losses recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (-2.99%), NESTLE (-2.76%) and UBA (-2.17%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly negative note, driven by the sell sentiment observed across the short and mid tenors of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield advanced by 2bps to close at 18.02%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bullish note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 6bps to close at 16.83%
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.17% to close at NGN1,362.55/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) weakened by 5.54% to close at USD79.13pb.
