The NGXASI advanced by 0.12% to close at 245,209.34pts, as the gains recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (+2.19%), ZENITHBANK (+0.81%) and STANBIC (+1.38%) drove the local equities market into the green.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note, driven by the buy sentiment observed at the short end of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bp to close at 17.97%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a mildly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield appreciated by 1bp to close at 16.80%
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.08% to close at NGN1,364.88/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 4.02% to close at USD82.64pb.
