NGX Pulls Back as Trading Activity Moderates

Market Summary:

  • Today, the Nigerian Exchange Market closed on a negative note largely due to share price depreciation in UBA (-0.77%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.33%)

  • As a result, the benchmark Nigerian Exchange All-Share Index (NGX-ASI) fell slightly by 0.07% to settle at 242,454.65 points

  • Year to date returns fell to settle at 55.81%

  • Market capitalisation also fell by 0.07% to close at N156.52tn ($115.98bn)

  • Activity level in the market declined with the total value and volume of stocks traded falling by 49.40% and 5.89% to settle at N22.93bn and 1.33bn units, respectively.
