Nigerian Bourse Dips -0.11% on Losses in Banking Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.11% to close at 239,085.17pts, as the losses recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (-1.58%), FIDELITYBK (-6.00%) and UBA (-1.44%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bearish note, driven by the selling pressure observed across the three tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield increased by 32bps to close at 18.89%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a mildly positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 1bp to close at 16.77%
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated marginally by 0.04% to close at NGN1,346.98/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 2.35% to close at USD92.17pb.
