The NGXASI appreciated by 0.77% to close at 246,082.63pts, as the gains recorded in HBMNG (+4.48%), NESTLE (+5.83%) and FIRSTHOLDCO (+1.17%) drove the local equities market into the green.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bearish note, driven by the selling pressure observed across the short and long tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield advanced by 8bps to close at 18.85%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 3bps to close at 16.79%
At the NFEM window, the Naira gained by 0.26% to close at NGN1,329.43/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 2.33% to close at USD92.60pb.
