NGXASI Gains +0.25%, Buoyed by Bellwether Tickers

The NGXASI appreciated by 0.25% to close at 246,992.44pts, as the gains recorded in MTNN (+0.62%), NB (+9.93%) and STANBIC (+2.06%) drove the local equities market into the green.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by the selling sentiment observed across the short end of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield gained by 5bps to close at 18.86%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 8bps to close at 16.68%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira declined by 0.42% to close at NGN1,321.22/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 0.06% to close at USD95.46pb.
