FIRSTHOLDCO, ZENITHBANK, MTNN Drags Nigerian Equities to -1.17%

The NGXASI declined by 1.17% to close at 244,802.11pts, as the losses recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (-9.30%), MTNN (-2.39%) and ZENITHBANK (-3.94%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, driven by the buying sentiment observed across the mid and long end of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 4bps to close at 18.77%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bullish note as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 12bps to close at 16.55%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated marginally by 0.02% to close at NGN1,320.25/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.20% to close at USD97.19pb.
