NGXASI Dips -1.05% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 1.05% to close at 247,699.78pts, as the losses recorded in BUACEMENT (-10.00%), NESTLE (-6.51%) and NB (-9.76%) drove the local equities market into the negative zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a mild positive note, driven by the buying sentiment observed across the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bp to close at 18.76%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 3bps to close at 16.52%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.68% to close at NGN1,329.21/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 3.34% to close at USD101.19pb.
