The NGXASI advanced by 0.10% to close at 243,299.24pts, as the gains recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (+3.68%), NESTLE (+3.57%) and CUSTODIAN (+7.14%) drove the local equities market into the positive region.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, driven by the buying sentiment observed across the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 5bps to close at 18.80%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a mild positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 1bp to close at 16.53%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira strengthened marginally by 0.02% to close at NGN1,326.30/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 2.71% to close at USD107.44pb.
