The NGXASI advanced by 1.42% to close at 249,804.56pts, as the gains recorded in MTNN (+9.20%), FIRSTHOLDCO (+8.11%) and DANGCEM (+1.55%) drove the local equities market into the positive zone.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by the selling sentiment observed at the short end of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield advanced by 4bps to close at 18.85%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a flattish note as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged to close at 16.58%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated marginally by 0.01% to close at NGN1,331.20/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 1.18% to close at USD103.58pb.
