NGXASI Dips +0.01% on Losses in Banking, Oil & Gas Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.01% to close at 252,113.41pts, as the losses recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (-5.09%), TOTAL (-10.00%) and UBA (-0.77%) drove the local equities market into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bullish note, driven by the strong buy sentiment observed across the short and mid tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 41bps to close at 17.85%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 3bps to close at 15.73%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.06% to close at NGN1,329.51/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 0.38% to close at USD 106.20pb.
