UBA, Other Banking Counters Drive NGXASI to +0.21% Gain

The NGXASI advanced by 0.21% to close at 252,635.11pts, as the gains recorded in FIRSTHOLDCO (+2.11%), FIDELITYBK (+6.48%) and UBA (+1.77%) drove the local equities market into the green.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note, driven by the buy sentiment observed across the short and mid tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bp to close at 17.84%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield increased by 10bps to close at 15.83%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.14% to close at NGN1,331.33/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 1.36% to close at USD 105.74pb.
