NGX Edges Lower Despite Surge in Trading Activity

Market Summary:

 

  • Today, the Nigerian Exchange Market closed on a negative note largely due to  share price depreciation in ACCESSCORP (-2.25%) and DANGSUGAR (-1.45%)
  • As a result, the benchmark Nigerian Exchange All-Share Index (NGX-ASI) fell by  0.28% to settle at 251,211.67 points
  • Year to date returns fell to settle at 61.43%
  • Market capitalisation also fell by 0.26% to close at N163.10tn ($122.71bn)
  • Activity level in the market was positive with the total value of stocks traded rising by 56.39% to settle at N53.64bn. Similarly, the total volume of stocks traded rose by 88.71% to settle at 1.04bn units
