The NGXASI declined by 0.06% to close at 250,667.86pts, as the losses recorded in NESTLE (-5.17%), GTCO (-0.45%) and UBA (-0.66%) drove the local equities market into the red.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, driven by the buy sentiment observed across the short and mid tenors of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 2bps to close at 17.78%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield increased by 1bp to close at 15.84%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.12% to close at NGN1,331.69/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 0.95% to close at USD 101.28pb.
