NGXASI Dips -0.82% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.82% to close at 248,982.60pts, as the losses recorded in ARADEL (-10.00%), MTNN (-3.54%) and STANBIC (-2.38%) drove the local equities market into the negative zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a flattish note, driven by the weak buying sentiment observed across the short and mid tenors of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield remained unchanged to close at 17.85%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield advanced by 1bps to close at 16.04%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira declined marginally by 0.02% to close at NGN1,332.10/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 3.60% to close at USD 103.81pb.
