The NGXASI declined by 0.33% to close at 248,977.22pts, as the losses recorded in MTNN (-1.53%), HBMNG (-2.48%) and ZENITHBANK (-2.17%) drove the local equities market into the red.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by the selling sentiment observed at the mid and long end of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield advanced by 2bps to close at 17.88%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield inched lower by 1bp to close at 16.34%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.14% to close at NGN1,346.79/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 1.10% to close at USD 97.21pb.
